THE UPDATE

Check out the house pics because I've added more. I even got some pics of Sierra at the playground. About the only this missing is some more shots of the garage. So far you only get to see the messy section! There's also some more pics of the tandem rally and more coming once my co-workers wife sends them over.

We had planned on a 67 mile ride with Eugene bike club GEARs this Sunday but after looking at the route and realizing it was a bit hillier than we were used to (especially given that we'd be pulling Sierra), we decided on something else to do this... (more)

Find pics of the inside of the house (as promised!) above. More to be added soon so keep watching there.

In other news, we survived the Northwest Tandem Rally. More info if you click on the pic.

Last but not least, click on the pic above and check out Lali Puna! Related to indietronica hipsters the Notwist and Ms. John Soda, Lali Puna rocks out in a way that neither of the others quite do. Take the pensive warmth of Stereolab, the quiet boisterousness of Mogwai, the half-dazed otherworldliness of Mum, add a dash of German pop minimalism and combine them into one masterpiece of... Lots of stuff to tell about this weekend and, as promised, more pics of the house coming soon. Meanwhile, a little interlude. Bear with me.

In le Tour following Lance's retirement, all of the antagnoists in this seven-year novel should be expected to battle fiercely for his place at the top. Despite what could have been a dramatic race, the Spanish have eliminated some of the most likely canditates for the podium on doping rumor alone. I guess the French aren't the only ones raising a stink about doping.

On the other hand, they are clearly taking their irritation about not... (more)

Here's some outside pics.

Those little arrows on the last one aren't UFOs, but there is a reason they're there. Click on it and find out some interesting factoids about our particular location.

Oregon Grandma's coming to watch Sierra this weekend while we do the Northwest Tandem Rally. As soon as we get the house cleaned up for her, I'll take some inside ones. :)

Meanwhile, enjoy a fresh shot of Sierra:

The nice thing about Oregon is you can live large on a budget. We had to pay gas to get to Deer Creek (Bigelow) Hot Springs, but that was about the total expenditure besides snacks. In return we spent most of the day soaking in the pool which is right beside the beautiful McKenzie River.

We were accompanied with fellow ex-Cleveland bike messengers Chris and Jamie. They just rented a cute little place overlooking Drain. Meanwhile, we're living basically just down the bike path from Bike Friday in a house we just bought. Pictures coming soon.

Hope you all are enjoying the holidays however you like to enjoy it. We got a nice Noble Fir in the living room decorated with (among other things) our 8 unique bike-related ornaments. We've got a few lights and a mechanized Frosty outside, too. We went to see a cool Christmas parade with Grandma and we've now realized the inherient merryment in coffee and brandy and peppermint schnapps.I got some cool battery powered LED Christmas lights and I've been riding around town with them on my bike. I joined a group of local riders for a ride through Eugene to look at Christmas lights. It was... (more)

..though Grandma and Sierra started it off right with some homemade pancakes. Christina's first brilliant idea was to go down and paint presents for people at Brush Fire:

This was followed by a delightful meal at Mezza Luna which Christina guessed would have vegan pie. And man, was it good thin crust New York style, too!

Then, inspired by the snow on the mountains around us, she suggested we go play in the snow. We rushed home, got all our gear, picked up some boots for Sierra and a couple sleds and took off down 126. We ended up in the overflow parking lot of Belknap Hot... (more)
